DANANG — Construction has started on an VND80-trillion urban complex in Danang City that will feature a 69-story tower.
The 408-meter-tall building will be the country’s second-tallest after Landmark 81 in HCMC, which stands at 461 meters.
The project, known as Danang Downtown, covers nearly 77 hectares along the Han River between Tran Thi Ly and Tien Son bridges.
The tower will include a five-star hotel, Grade A offices, luxury apartments, a shopping mall, restaurants, bars, an observation deck, and a convention center.
The wider complex will house a cultural park, a 9,000-square-meter theater with 4,000 seats, a museum, and an exhibition center. Sun Group, the project’s developer, said the site will also host fireworks shows and outdoor performances aimed at boosting the city’s tourism and nighttime economy.
Danang Downtown is one of 250 projects launched or inaugurated nationwide on August 19, with a total investment value of VND1.3 quadrillion.
