HCMC – Danang City in central Vietnam generated about VND1.5 trillion in tourism revenue during the Lunar New Year holiday, a 37% rise compared to the same period in 2023.
The city welcomed around 402,000 tourists, mostly Vietnamese from Hanoi, HCMC and neighboring central provinces such as Quang Nam, Thua Thien-Hue and Quang Ngai.
International visitors also contributed to the tourism boom, hailing from countries such as South Korea, Japan, India, the U.S., Australia, Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore.
Danang International Airport has handled around 770 domestic and international flights since February 8. On average, the airport accommodates 111 flights per day, comprising 58 domestic and 53 international flights.
The city has received a total of 3,400 passengers who arrived on three cruise ships during the week-long holiday.
In 2024, Danang aims to attract over 8.42 million visitors and generate revenue of VND30.8 trillion from tourism.
