HCMC – Danang City authorities have temporarily halted sightseeing tours and other tourism activities on the Son Tra Peninsula due to rain-triggered landslides.
Nguyen Duc Vu, head of the management board overseeing the Son Tra Peninsula and Danang Tourist Beaches, confirmed that all routes leading to the peninsula have been closed to ensure safety.
Starting from October 15, only travel companies that had previously received guests are allowed to transport visitors to Linh Ung Pagoda, while all other routes remain locked down.
“Tourism activities must be halted due to heavy rain,” said Vu.
According to the Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting in the central region, Danang City is expected to experience heavy rains until the morning of October 17, with rainfalls ranging from 150 to 300 millimeters.
This weather pattern increases the risk of flash floods, landslides in mountainous areas, and flooding in low-lying and urban areas.
