Dat Phuong Group wins tender to build Day River bridge

HCMC – Dat Phuong Group JSC, which trades its DGG shares on the Hochiminh Stock Exchange, announced that it has won a tender to construct a bridge crossing the Day River in northern Vietnam.

As part of the Ninh Binh-Nam Dinh-Thai Binh-Haiphong expressway, the bridge would link Ninh Binh and Nam Dinh provinces, and improve regional and interregional connectivity in the Red River Delta area.

The four-lane bridge will be around two kilometers long. The total contract value is VND1,174 billion.

Dat Phuong Group has also been carrying out several important bidding packages, such as the Nhat Le 3 bridge, another one for the coastal road through Thua Thien-Hue Province, and a bridge over Thuan An inlet.

Regarding the business performance, Dat Phuong Group made VND1,159 billion in net revenue in the first half of 2023, down 13% year-on-year. The company’s after-tax profit stood at VND137 billion, plunging by 52% versus the year-ago period.

Dat Phuong Group set a consolidated revenue target of VND3,436 billion and an after-tax profit target of VND287.6 billion for 2023. By the end of June, the company had achieved 33.7% of the annual revenue target and 47.6% of the after-tax profit target.

At the close of the trading session today, August 11, DPG shares increased by 4.51% at VND42,900 per share.

With the great performance of blue-chip stocks, the VN-Index of the Hochiminh Stock Exchange added 11.6 points, or 0.95%, over yesterday’s session, at 1,232.21 points. The southern bourse saw 232 winners and 226 losers today.

Trade on the southern bourse totaled over one billion shares, up 5.17% over the session earlier, with a total value of over VND21.2 trillion. Around 28.79 million shares valued at around VND603 billion were traded in block deals.

Stocks in the VN30 basket showed better growth than the general market with an increase of 14.5 points in the index. It surpassed the 1,240-point mark with 18 gainers and only nine decliners.

VIC closed the trading session at its daily ceiling price, VND72,600 per share, up 6.9% day-on-day, marking a record high in over a year.

Lender STB soared to VND31,850 per share today, up 4.3%, and took the lead by liquidity with 32.73 million shares changing hands.

On the Hanoi Stock Exchange, the HNX-Index added 1.34 points, or 0.55%, to 245.25 points, with 79 winners and 105 losers. The total trading volume amounted to 108.97 million shares, with a value of over VND1.72 trillion.
