HCMC — The Dau Giay–Tan Phu Expressway will be developed under a public-private partnership (PPP) with an investment of nearly VND8.5 trillion, according to the Department for Roads of Vietnam.

The first phase of the project spans more than 60 kilometers. Construction is scheduled for completion in 2026, with operations starting in 2027.

The expressway will run from the National Highway 1 interchange in Dau Giay Commune to the connection point with the Tan Phu–Bao Loc section in Phu Lam Commune, Dong Nai Province.

In the initial phase, the road will have four lanes, a width of 17 meters, and a design speed of 100 kilometers per hour. The toll collection period is expected to last nearly 17 years.

The route will include five interchanges, 14 bridges, 26 overpasses, four interchange branch bridges, and 24 underpasses.

The project will be executed by a joint venture of Truong Hai and Son Hai. Land clearance markers have been handed over to local authorities, with compensation work expected to be completed by the fourth quarter of 2025.

The Dau Giay–Tan Phu section is part of the nearly 200-kilometer Dau Giay–Lien Khuong Expressway, which is divided into three subprojects. All have received approval and partial commencement, with full construction scheduled to begin in 2025.

The Southeast region’s expressway network includes 10 routes with a total length of more than 1,300 kilometers. Of these, 241 kilometers are operational, 288 kilometers are under construction, 516 kilometers are in preparation, and 269 kilometers have yet to be initiated, the Vietnam News Agency reported.
