The newly established Dau Tieng Commune has emerged as the new green lung of HCMC besides Can Gio Biosphere Reserve.
Spanning over 182 square kilometers, the Dau Tieng region is a treasure trove of ecological, spiritual, and experiential tourism, offering a refreshing escape from city life. At the center of this destination is Dau Tieng Lake, one of Vietnam’s largest artificial reservoirs.
The lake is home to vast, mirror-like waters and a distinctive ecosystem typical of the southeast region. Its gentle shores and surrounding woodlands have become a sanctuary for outdoor enthusiasts, making it an ideal hub for lakeside glamping, scenic hiking, and refreshing weekend getaways.
A must-see highlight is Bai Da Trung (the Egg Stone Beach), a unique natural formation of hundreds of smooth, round boulders that create a surreal landscape, especially breathtaking during sunrise and sunset.
For those seeking adventure mixed with tranquility, Mount Cau offers a gentle trek through lush forests. From its summit, visitors can enjoy a sweeping panoramic view of the vast lake and the emerald canopy of the surrounding wilderness. Nearby, the ancient Thoi Son Pagoda provides a peaceful spiritual retreat, reflecting the deep-rooted Buddhist traditions of the local community.
The landscape is further characterized by expansive, historic rubber plantations originating from the French colonial era. These endless rows of straight, towering trees create a poetic and peaceful environment, ideal for photography and exploring the region’s agricultural history. With its strategic location and abundant natural resources, Dau Tieng is well-positioned to become a top eco-tourism destination, boosting the city’s tourism industry while encouraging sustainable community development.
To realize this potential, Saigontourist Group has conducted an extensive survey of the area’s routes and attractions to develop new, high-quality tour products.
