HCMC – The Politburo has assigned Deputy Minister of Health Do Xuan Tuyen to temporarily run the ministry from June 7, replacing Nguyen Thanh Long, who has been removed from the post of Minister of Health.
Tuyen, born in 1966, graduated from the Vietnam Military Medical University. In December 2019, he assumed the post of Deputy Minister of Health after serving as deputy secretary of the Party Committee of Hung Yen Province and chairman of the provincial People’s Council, the local media reported.
As Deputy Minister of Health, Tuyen is in charge of pharmaceuticals, vaccines, cosmetics, medical equipment and food safety.
The Ministry of Health has four deputy ministers: Nguyen Thi Lien Huong, Do Xuan Tuyen, Nguyen Truong Son and Tran Van Thuan. However, Nguyen Truong Son has tendered his resignation.
