HCMC – Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has issued a decision appointing Deputy Prime Minister Ho Duc Phoc as head of the Steering Committee for Anti-Money Laundering, effective from October 18, 2024, according to the Government’s news site.
The committee is responsible for assisting the prime minister in formulating strategies, policies, programs, and plans to combat money laundering. It will also coordinate anti-money laundering activities across Vietnam, monitor progress, and evaluate the effectiveness of measures.
Furthermore, the committee will oversee Vietnam’s commitments as a member of the Asia-Pacific Group on Money Laundering (APG) and ensure the full implementation of the Financial Action Task Force’s (FATF) 40 recommendations.
