HCMC – The HCMC government has approved the 1/500 scale planning for land reclamation for an urban tourism area in Can Gio District, which aims to attract nearly nine million visitors annually through the development of four sub-zones.
The project will cover 2,870 hectares, focusing primarily on the low-lying coastal areas in Long Hoa Commune and Can Thanh Town, Can Gio District. It is set to offer a variety of tourism products, targeting around 8.8 million visitors each year.
The maximum population of the urban area will be 228,500, distributed across the four sub-zones: sub-zone A with about 59,000 people, sub-zone B with 75,000 people, sub-zone C with 41,000 people, and sub-zone D with 53,000 people.
Can Gio Tourism Urban Area JSC has been tasked with completing the detailed planning, which includes preparing a pre-feasibility study, developing the detailed planning proposal, and submitting it for appraisal and approval.
