HCMC – The Politburo has taken disciplinary warnings against Dang Quoc Khanh and Chau Van Lam, former Party secretaries of Ha Giang and Tuyen Quang provinces, respectively, following a review of violations and shortcomings by Party organizations and members.

At a meeting held today, October 11, at the Party Central Committee’s headquarters in Hanoi, the Politburo reviewed recommendations from the Central Inspection Commission regarding leadership failures in Ha Giang and Tuyen Quang provinces.

It was found that the Standing Committee of the Ha Giang Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term violated the principles of democratic centralism and Party regulations. These violations occurred during the implementation of the Tuyen Quang-Ha Giang expressway project, conducted by Thuan An Group, due to a lack of leadership responsibility and oversight.

The Standing Committee of the Tuyen Quang Provincial Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term was also found to have violated key Party principles, including democratic centralism and working procedures. Their weak leadership led to serious violations in the Tuyen Quang-Phu Tho expressway construction project, undertaken by Thuan An Group.

Dang Quoc Khanh, during his tenure as a member of the Central Party Committee and secretary of the Ha Giang Provincial Party Committee, and Chau Van Lam, who held a similar role in Tuyen Quang, were found to have violated Party regulations and state laws in the execution of their duties, including efforts to combat corruption.

Their actions resulted in a waste of state funds, negatively impacted public opinion, and diminished the credibility of both the Party and local government.

In response, the Politburo issued disciplinary warnings to the Standing Committees of the Ha Giang Provincial Party Committee (2020-2025) and Tuyen Quang Provincial Party Committee (2020-2025), along with Khanh and Lam.
