HCMC – Domestic gold prices advanced by VND1 million per tael today, September 23, while global prices soared to an all-time high.

Saigon Jewelry Company (SJC) quoted its gold bar prices at VND132.6 million for buying and VND134.6 million for selling, up VND1 million on both sides from the previous session. Phu Quy Jewelry listed buying prices at VND132 million and selling at VND134.6 million, while Phu Nhuan Jewelry Joint Stock Company (PNJ) posted VND132.6 million and VND134.6 million, respectively.

Ring gold followed the same trend, climbing VND1 million per tael. SJC bought it at VND128.3 million and sold it at VND131.1 million, while PNJ offered VND127.3 million for buying and VND130.3 million for selling.

Domestic gold bar prices are now VND15 million per tael higher than international gold, and ring gold stands about VND12 million higher.

On the global market, gold added US$8 per ounce to reach US$3,754, marking a one-day surge of nearly US$70 per ounce. Over the past 30 days, the precious metal has jumped more than US$310 per ounce, or 9.2%. The rally has been driven by mounting expectations of further U.S. interest rate cuts and strong safe-haven demand amid political instability.
