HCMC – Local gold bar prices have inched down by VND100,000-200,000 per tael against the previous session to VND89.2-90.5 million per tael today, February 24, said local media reports.
At 9 a.m., Saigon Jewelry Company (SJC) and Doji listed the price of SJC gold bars at VND89.2 million per tael for buying and VND90.5 million per tael for selling, down by VND200,000 against yesterday’s session, according to Vietnam News Agency.
Meanwhile, Bao Tin Minh Chau bought gold bars at VND90.1 million per tael and sold them at VND91.6 million per tael, up VND700,000 per tael on the buying side and down VND100,000 per tael on the selling side.
The price of gold rings also slightly decreased.
SCJ quoted the price of gold rings at VND89.1-91.2 million per tael, down VND200,000 per tael compared to the previous session’s closing price.
Bao Tin Minh Chau capped the price of gold rings at VND90.1 million per tael for buying and VND91.6 million per tael per selling, down VND100,000 per tael on the buying side and VND200,000 per tael on the selling side.
The exchange rate of the Vietnamese dong against the U.S. dollar on February 24 fluctuated at various banks.
The State Bank of Vietnam announced the central exchange rate at VND24,646 per U.S. dollar, an increase of VND8 compared to February 21. The reference exchange rate at the State Bank of Vietnam’s transaction office was VND23,457-25,819 per U.S. dollar.
At commercial banks, as of 8 a.m. today, Vietcombank listed the U.S. dollar at VND25,340-25,700, down VND10 compared to February 21, while BIDV increased it by VND30 to VND25,350-25,710.
