HCMC – Domestic gold prices soared this morning, August 14, with selling prices nearing VND125 million per tael, the highest level ever recorded.
As of 9 a.m., Saigon Jewelry Company (SJC), DOJI, and Bao Tin Minh Chau quoted gold bar prices at VND123.5 million for buying and VND124.7 million for selling, up VND500,000 per tael from yesterday’s close.
Phu Quy Jewelry posted the same selling price at VND124.7 million, with the buying price at VND122.7 million, up VND500,000 on both directions.
This pushed SJC-branded gold bars to a fresh record, with the buying–selling gap ranging from VND1.2 million to VND2 million per tael.
In the gold ring segment, SJC kept its prices unchanged at VND116.8 million for buying and VND119.3 million for selling. Bao Tin Minh Chau increased both buying and selling prices by VND500,000 to VND117.5 million and VND120.5 million, respectively.
Globally, gold rose in the August 13 trading session, with spot gold up 0.3% at US$3,355.58 per ounce and December futures also up 0.3% at US$3,408.30.
