HCMC — Dong Nai Province has set a deadline of June 30 to complete land clearance and resettlement for the Dau Giay–Tan Phu Expressway project, a key infrastructure development in southern Vietnam.
At a meeting on May 15, the People’s Committee of Dong Nai called for faster progress on compensation procedures and the construction of resettlement areas to ensure the project can begin in August, reported the Vietnam News Agency.
The 60-kilometer expressway, which runs from Thong Nhat to Tan Phu districts, requires nearly 380 hectares of land. The investor, the Thang Long Project Management Board, has completed on-site boundary marking and transferred over VND800 billion for compensation.
The province is also handling land acquisition for the Tan Phu–Bao Loc Expressway. The 66-kilometer project, mostly located in Lam Dong Province, passes through an 11-kilometer section in Dong Nai. That section affects more than 400 households, with around 100 needing resettlement.
Dong Nai will also oversee part of HCMC’s Beltway No. 4. The 47-kilometer section runs from Cam My to Vinh Cuu districts and will be developed under a public-private partnership. Total investment is estimated at over VND26 trillion, with more than VND10 trillion allocated for site clearance.
The proposed North-South high-speed railway will span over 80 kilometers across Dong Nai, with a station planned at Long Thanh International Airport. The route will include elevated, underground, and surface sections.
Local officials said compensation estimates for the Dau Giay–Tan Phu Expressway have been approved and land measurement is underway. Other projects are pending boundary demarcation before land acquisition can proceed.
Ho Van Ha, vice chairman of the People’s Committee of Dong Nai, urged local authorities to accelerate clearance and resettlement work, noting that district-level governments will be restructured after June. The province’s industry department has been assigned to coordinate the relocation of power infrastructure to avoid delays.
