HCMC – Dong Nai Province on February 3 launched, broke ground on, and marked technical openings for five projects worth a combined VND33 trillion.
The largest project is the High-Tech Livestock Farming Complex in Thuan Loi Commune. The project covers around 1,500 hectares and costs a total of about VND30.5 trillion.
The complex includes a large-scale livestock farming zone spanning 410 hectares, a 76-hectare area for animal feed production and high-tech agricultural processing, 600 hectares dedicated to fruit trees and medicinal plants, and 80 hectares for technical infrastructure.
Speaking at the launch ceremony, Nguyen Kim Long, vice chairman of the Dong Nai People’s Committee, said the province ranks fourth nationwide in economic size. Alongside industry and services, agriculture remains a key pillar, contributing to livelihoods, social stability, and sustainable development.
Dong Nai’s agricultural output is valued at around VND95 trillion, placing it among the country’s leading localities. Livestock continues to play a central role, with herd sizes among the largest nationwide.
According to provincial leaders, agriculture still has significant room for growth, particularly through technology adoption and value-chain-based production. Developing high-tech and concentrated agricultural zones linked to processing and markets is therefore seen as a necessary direction.
Once implemented, the project is expected to improve land-use efficiency, establish closed production chains, enhance disease control, and reduce environmental risks. It also aims to promote a green, modern, and circular agricultural model, while creating jobs, attracting investment, and raising local incomes.
Local authorities said they will continue to coordinate with relevant agencies to ensure planning management, environmental protection, and security, enabling the project to proceed on schedule.
On the same day, Dong Nai also launched or advanced four other projects. These include the Tin Nghia Primary School in Binh Loc Ward, a section of the Cai River riverside road in Tran Bien and Tam Hiep wards, and technical openings of the Thong Nhat Bridge on Bien Hoa’s central axis and Beltway 1 in Long Khanh City.
