HCMC – The southern province of Dong Nai plans to complete more than 64,000 social housing units between 2025 and 2030, allocating over 1,000 hectares of land and using funds from its Housing Development Fund, reported the Vietnam News Agency.

Ho Van Ha, vice chairman of the Dong Nai People’s Committee, said the target matches the plan approved by the prime minister, which covers both Dong Nai and former Binh Phuoc Province. He urged local authorities to clear legal hurdles and speed up land clearance to keep projects on track.

The Construction Department of Dong Nai will add more plots, including auction sites, urban areas, and mixed-use commercial-residential zones, to its housing development program to attract investment. Over 3,000 units are scheduled for completion in 2025.

Bids have been invited for 10 social housing projects. Nine projects attracted letters of interest from 22 investors, while one project received none. The department is expected to complete evaluations and submit investor selection proposals by August 14.

Dong Nai has more than VND2 trillion in its Housing Development Fund and over 1,000 hectares of land for social housing, including public land and the 20% allocation in commercial projects. Seven new sites have been proposed for housing public employees.

The Construction Department has proposed appointing the provincial Project Management Board as the investor for public employee housing projects. It has also requested the finance department to explore funding from the provincial Housing Development Fund, the National Housing Fund or other sources.

The province will work with the Ministries of National Defense and Public Security to identify sites for housing armed forces personnel.
