HCMC – The southern province of Dong Nai has approved a VND133-billion project to build a bridge within its newly expanded boundaries, connecting the original Dong Nai area with the area of former Binh Phuoc Province.

The Ma Da Bridge will link Tan Loi and Tri An communes, running from provincial road DT.753 to a connection point with HCMC Beltway No. 4, according to a decision signed by the chairman of the Dong Nai People’s Committee on July 29.

The bridge will be 20.5 meters wide and designed for six traffic lanes, including four for motor vehicles and two for non-motorized traffic. The design speed is 80 km/h.

Construction is scheduled to begin in 2025 and finish in 2027. The project will be fully funded by the provincial budget and managed by Dong Nai’s Construction Investment Project Management Board.

The bridge is part of a broader plan to improve connectivity between the Central Highlands, Long Thanh International Airport, and the Cai Mep-Thi Vai port complex.

In May, Dong Nai sought investment for five major infrastructure projects, including a 44-km road linking Ma Da Bridge with Beltway No. 4. The proposed road project is expected to cost VND10.8 trillion under a public-private partnership.
