CAN THO – The Mekong Delta province of Dong Thap has handed over four sand mines with total reserves of 3.2 million cubic meters to contractors of the Can Tho-Ca Mau Expressway.
Four contractors — Hai Dang JSC, Tan Nam Construction JSC, Truong Son Construction Corporation, and Thi Son Manufacturing and Construction Limited Company — have been entrusted with the necessary mining procedures.
According to the People’s Committee of Dong Thap Province, Hai Dang Joint Stock Company has completed documentation for an investment project in sand mining along the Tien River, specifically in the section passing through Thuong Thoi Tien Town, Hong Ngu District. The contractor has received approval for the project’s environmental impact assessment report.
Meanwhile, the Dong Thap Department of Natural Resources and Environment is working with three other contractors to finalize the necessary documents, which will be submitted for consideration and approval by provincial authorities.
The contractors have been urged to expedite the completion of required steps while adhering to regulations, emphasizing the need for security, transparency, and loss prevention during the sand mining process.
On September 20, Dong Thap handed over a Tien River sand mine in An Nhon Commune, Chau Thanh District, to Construction Corporation No.1 Joint Stock Company (CC1), the contractor responsible for the Can Tho-Ca Mau Expressway project.
The My Thuan Project Management Board estimated that around 18.46 million cubic meters of sand will be required for road leveling during the execution of the Can Tho-Ca Mau Expressway project.
