Dragon Capital comes back as major shareholder in PV Drilling

HCMC – Dragon Capital have regained their status as a major shareholder in PV Drilling (HOSE, ticker: PVD) after some of its members carried out large share purchases on March 24.

Hanoi Investments Holdings Limited, part of Dragon Capital, purchased more than 1.02 million PVD shares, while Samsung Vietnam Securities Master Investment Trust acquired an additional 178,000 shares.

Those transactions brought the group’s total holdings to 28.3 million shares, equivalent to 5.0943% of PVD’s charter capital.

Prior to the purchases, the group held about 27.1 million PVD shares, equivalent to a 4.8772% stake.

Dragon Capital increased its stake in PVD as the stock has been undergoing a correction since early March. Specifically, after reaching VND45,000 per share on March 4, PVD fell to VND33,500 on March 24, a decline of 25.5%.

Closing the trading session today, March 30, PVD rose by 1.26% against the final session last week to VND36,200, with more than 4.04 million shares changing hands.

Regarding the stock market, the Hochiminh Stock Exchange (HOSE) saw 118 gainers and 204 decliners, with the VN Index falling 10.26 points, or 0.61%, to 1,662.54.

Total trading volume reached 824.7 million shares valued at VND21.49 trillion, down 12.3% in volume and 8.4% in value. Block deal transactions accounted for 79.65 million shares worth VND2.06 trillion.

The VN30 index briefly edged into positive territory but closed down more than nine points, with 19 losers and 8 winners. Industrial park real estate stock GVR posted the strongest gain of 3.1%, followed by STB up 2.2%, MSN rising 2%, and HPG gaining 1.5%, while the remaining advancers recorded modest increases of less than 0.5%.

On the downside, DGC extended its sell off and at one point slid close to the floor price. The stock closed down 5.2% at VND49,100, with more than 6.9 million shares traded. VIC exerted the largest negative impact on the market, declining 2.3% and erasing more than five points from the benchmark index.

On the northern bourse, the HNX-Index fell by 1.77 points, or 0.7%, at VND250.59 points, with 71 advancers and 82 decliners. Over 76 million shares worth VND1.48 trillion were transacted.
