HCMC – Investment fund Dragon Capital has trimmed its stake in Mobile World Investment Corporation (HOSE: MWG) to 5.93% after selling nearly 1.47 million shares on July 31.
According to disclosures, Vietnam Enterprise Investments Limited offloaded one million MWG shares, while Hanoi Investments Holdings Limited sold 467,900 shares, reducing Dragon Capital’s ownership from 6.03% to 5.93% of the company’s charter capital.
Separately, Pham Van Trong, board member and CEO of the Bach Hoa Xanh retail chain, sold 94,700 MWG shares between May 20 and June 18, lowering his stake from 0.22% to 0.21%.
MWG shares had rallied 47% over the past four months, climbing from VND45,590 on April 9 to VND67,000 as of August 4.
In terms of business performance, Mobile World reported revenue of VND37.7 trillion in the second quarter of 2025, up 10.2% year-on-year, with after-tax profit reaching VND1.6 trillion, up 41.4%.
In the first half of 2025, the company posted cumulative revenue of VND73.7 trillion, up 12.4%, and after-tax profit of VND3.5 trillion, a 54.4% increase compared to the same period last year.
Closing the trading session today, MWG added 3.43% day-on-day to VND69,300, with nearly 15.7 million shares changing hands.
On the southern exchange, the VN-Index of the Hochiminh Stock Exchange (HOSE) surged by 18.96 points, or 1.24%, against the previous session, at 1,547.15 points, with 118 winners and 221 losers.
More than 2.8 billion shares worth VND78.1 trillion were transacted, more than double the previous session’s volume and up nearly 90% in value. Block deals accounted for over 110 million shares worth a combined VND5,360 billion.
Bank stocks and several blue chips stood out in today’s trading session. Notably, MBB hit its ceiling price at VND29,700, with trading volume exceeding 71.1 million shares. Meanwhile, STB, HPG, TCB, TPB, and VIC posted robust gains of 3.4% to 5.7%.
HPG was particularly active, with nearly 215 million shares changing hands.
The HNX saw 65 advancers and 111 decliners, with the HNX-Index falling 2.22 points, or 0.83% day-on-day, to 266.12. Total matched volume exceeded 259.2 million shares, with a total value of VND5.7 trillion.
