HCMC – Nam Tu Liem District, Hanoi has decided to cancel the drone light show for the “Brilliant Thang Long 2025 ” event tonight, following a rehearsal incident.
The drone light show was set to be a highlight of the Lunar New Year celebration, scheduled for tonight at My Dinh National Stadium. However, after reviewing safety concerns, the Nam Tu Liem District decided to remove the drone segment from the program.
The decision follows an incident on January 26, when several drones caught fire and caused a bushfire near the stadium during the rehearsal. No injuries were reported, and the situation was part of the safety measures in place for the event.
The art performance with high-altitude and low-altitude fireworks display will still take place as planned.
The event is expected to celebrate the arrival of the new Lunar Year with a mix of traditional and modern performances.
