Duc Thanh Wood fined for late disclosure and trading violations

HCMC – The State Securities Commission of Vietnam (SSC) has imposed fines of VND202.5 million on Duc Thanh Wood Processing JSC (HOSE: GDT) for late information disclosure and trading violations.

According to Decision No. 269/QĐ-XPHC issued on September 15, the company was fined VND65 million for failing to disclose information on time.

The late disclosures included its Q4/2023 consolidated financial statements, an announcement on March 27, 2024 regarding change in its corporate model and financial reporting type, and a board resolution dated January 16, 2025 on an employee stock ownership plan.

In addition, Duc Thanh Wood was fined VND137.5 million for violating regulations on transactions involving shareholders, managers, and related parties.

Closing the trading session today, September 18, GDT shares inched down 0.47% from the previous session to VND21,000, with 6,500 shares changing hands.

The VN-Index lost 5.79 points, or 0.35%, to 1,665.18, with 108 advancers and 208 decliners. Trading volume totaled 915 million shares worth VND27.8 trillion, down over 14% in both volume and value against the previous session. Block deals contributed 51.4 million shares valued at VND2.37 trillion.

The VN30 basket shed more than seven points as 22 stocks declined and only seven advanced. Vingroup-related stocks diverged, with VIC up 1.3%, VHM up 0.6%, while VRE closed flat.

On the losing side, FPT dropped 2.3% to VND103,000, followed by ACB, TPB, and VNM, all down 2.3%. VCB was the biggest drag, taking away 1.7 points from the index as it fell 1.4% to VND63,900.

In the securities sector, SSI and VCI edged up slightly, while VIX rose 1.4% to VND37,000 on heavy trade of 27.6 million shares.

Among bank stocks, TCB closed up 0.3% at its intraday high of VND38,800, while liquidity in the steel sector stood out. HPG eased 0.2% but led the market with 75.7 million shares traded.

On the Hanoi exchange, the HNX-Index shed 0.71 point, or 0.26%, to 276.92, with 52 gainers and 81 decliners. Trading volume reached 108.3 million shares worth VND2.3 trillion.
