HCMC – Binh Son Refining and Petrochemical Joint Stock Company (BSR), the operator of Dung Quat Refinery in the central province of Quang Ngai, targets record-breaking output of 8.3 million tons in 2026, marking its highest production level since operations began in 2010.

For the second quarter alone, the refinery aims to maintain safe and continuous operations at 123% capacity, projected to deliver over two million tons of various petroleum products to the market. This roadmap follows a stellar performance in the first quarter of this year, where the plant operated at 123.5% capacity, producing 2.03 million tons.

To sustain this momentum, BSR, an affiliate of Vietnam National Industry – Energy Group (Petrovietnam), is securing raw materials for May and June, with 2.3 million barrels of domestic crude already prepared. The company is also negotiating with Russian partners for ESPO and Sokol crude, while diversifying imports from Africa, the U.S., and Southeast Asia. To bolster storage, the refinery’s ninth crude oil tank is fast-tracked for a May 2026 debut, increasing raw material reserves.

Strategic adjustments are also underway to stabilize the domestic market amid Middle East tensions. BSR has increased the production of high-RON gasoline blending components and is ready to supply E10RON95 biofuel. Furthermore, the upcoming launch of a third truck loading station is expected to enhance inland distribution capacity, ensuring national energy security throughout the second half of 2026.
