Eight rest areas along North-South expy ready by year-end

HCMC – Investors are finalizing key elements of eight rest areas along the North-South Expressway, and these facilities are expected to be up and running by the end of the year.

The Vietnam Expressway Authority announced that negotiations and contracts with investors for these eight rest areas have been completed.

According to project management reports, cleared land for three rest areas along Mai Son-National Highway 45, Dien Chau-Bai Vot, and Cam Lam-Vinh Hao expressways could be handed over to investors by August. 

Land for the rest areas along the Nha Trang-Cam Lam and Nghi Son-Dien Chau expressways will be partially handed over in August and fully by September. The Phan Thiet-Dau Giay Expressway rest areas will have land fully handed over by October.

For the two rest areas along the Vinh Hao-Phan Thiet Expressway, the land handover is expected to take place in the fourth quarter.

Regarding investment preparations for 13 rest areas along the North-South Expressway for the 2021-2025 phase, the bidding process is scheduled to start in September, with investor selection expected by early October 2024. The essential components of all the 13 rest areas are set to be completed by April 30, 2025.
