HCMC – An elevated ramp at the An Phu interchange has been opened to traffic, thus easing traffic from the HCMC–Long Thanh–Dau Giay Expressway to Mai Chi Tho Boulevard and then to Vo Nguyen Giap Avenue.

On the evening of December 31, the Transportation Works Construction Investment Project Management Authority of Ho Chi Minh City (TCIP), the project owner, told local media that it had begun allowing vehicles to travel on the N2 overpass ramp which is part of the An Phu interchange project.

The N2 ramp, which is under contract package XL11, will help separate traffic flows from the expressway heading into the city center via Vo Nguyen Giap Avenue, thereby reducing traffic conflicts at the An Phu interchange.

By January 15, 2026, the HC1-02 underpass under contract package XL6 might be opened to traffic, enabling uninterrupted traffic onto Mai Chi Tho Boulevard toward the Saigon River Tunnel. The N2 flyover and the HC1-02 underpass are considered two key packages, and once completed, they will help resolve about 80% of congestion in the interchange area.

The An Phu interchange project is located at the eastern gateway of the city, directly connecting to the HCMC–Long Thanh–Dau Giay Expressway and Long Thanh International Airport.

The VND3.4-trillion project got off the ground in 2022, and was then expected to be fully complete in 2025. However, long delays of several contract packages prompted TCIP to propose an adjustment, which was approved by the city, extending the overall completion deadline to the second quarter of 2026.
