HCMC – Emirates and Sun Group have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to jointly promote Vietnam as a premier tourist destination, aiming to boost inbound travel and drive passenger traffic growth through collaborative efforts.

The MoU was signed during the Arabian Travel Market (ATM) 2025 in Dubai by Orhan Abbas, Emirates’ senior vice president of Commercial Operations for the Far East, and Nguyen Vu Quynh Anh, deputy CEO of Sun Group cum CEO of Sun Entertainment & Hospitality Group.

Under the agreement, the two parties will collaborate on marketing and promotional campaigns to highlight Vietnam as a premier travel destination across the airline’s global network. The partnership also includes plans to organize familiarisation trips for media representatives and travel agents from key markets to further enhance awareness of Vietnam’s diverse tourism offerings, while supporting tour operators in these markets with promotional incentives and giveaways.

Orhan Abbas said the collaboration comes at a time when Emirates is expanding operations in Southeast Asia. “Emirates will add new weekly flights to Danang from June, marking it as our third Vietnamese gateway,” he said. “This expansion reflects Vietnam’s growing tourism appeal and our commitment to offering customers greater connectivity and choice.”

Nguyen Vu Quynh Anh expressed optimism about the new partnership, emphasizing the broader impact on Vietnam’s tourism industry. “We believe that Emirates’ new route to Danang will have a profoundly positive impact not only on the city but also on Vietnam’s entire tourism industry,” she said. “Beyond connectivity, Emirates will also play the role of an ambassador introducing Vietnam to global travelers.”

Starting June 2, Emirates will operate four weekly flights to Danang using its Boeing 777-300ER aircraft. The service will feature a two-class configuration with 35 business class seats and 368 economy class seats, complementing the airline’s existing 21 weekly flights to Hanoi and HCMC.
