The launch ceremony of the European Delicatessen experience campaign took place in HCMC on Friday, May 6. The event was attended by Consul General of France in HCMC Emmanuelle Pavillon-Grosser, a representative of the French federation of charcuterie and deli meat companies (FICT) in Vietnam, and food and beverage exporters and importers.
Co-hosted by FICT and the European Union, the campaign aims to create awareness about the quality of European delicatessen products in Vietnam, Thailand and Singapore.
It also provides local consumers with creative ways of incorporating delicatessen into their diets, recipes and lifestyles.
Talking at the event, Pavillon-Grosser said the event marks the launch of the three-year campaign featuring a series of events and communication activities in Vietnam, Singapore and Thailand. From now until 2024, there will be in-store tastings, delegations of French companies traveling to Vietnam to showcase their products and delegations of Vietnamese, Thai, and Singaporean importers to meet French delicatessen professionals.
She added that charcuterie and deli meat symbolize French cuisine, especially European gastronomy. Vietnam is one of France’s top 10 deli meat importers, with an annual value of nearly 18 million euros.
The launch event also featured a live cooking show led by Chef Sakal Phoeng and a selection of European delicatessen specialties.
