The area features extensive rocky terrains and cliffs of various shapes, colors, and formations. The sedimentary layers, some folded while others are stacked or tilted, form a stunning display of natural patterns shaped by geological forces over millions of years.

The cliffs at Mui Du reach 15 to 25 meters high and stretch for about 2 to 2.5 kilometers. Among them are coral fossils estimated to be between 5,000 and 6,000 years old, along with distinct fossilized formations that help researchers identify the age and structure of the sedimentary layers.

Most of the fossils and folded rock structures are located below sea level. Travelers are advised to visit during low tide and sunny weather, which are the best times for exploration. Due to the sharp rocks and uneven terrain, they should wear sturdy trekking shoes for safety.

Recognizing its scientific and cultural value, local authorities are considering proposing Mui Du as a provincial natural heritage site. The goal is to preserve its distinct geological formations while promoting responsible tourism that allows visitors to experience its ancient landscapes without harming the environment.

With its combination of dramatic rock formations, fossilized coral, and coastal tranquility, Mui Du stands out as a rare geological treasure of Khanh Hoa, offering both researchers and travelers a deeper appreciation of Vietnam’s natural history.
