Situated at the foot of Mui Dien Cape in Hoa Xuan Commune, Dak Lak Province (formerly Phu Yen Province), Bai Mon Beach is famous for offering visitors the chance to see Vietnam’s earliest sunrise. Although it is small—about 400 meters long—the beach is prized for its pristine white sands, clear blue water, and tranquil vibe.

Bai Mon is nestled between two headlands, Mui Nay to the north and Mui Dien to the south, forming a crescent-shaped cove protected from strong waves. The beach features gentle slopes and calm surf, making it perfect for swimming, strolling, and relaxing. To the west lies a lush primary forest, while in front, a small bay opens to the East Sea, creating a stunning contrast between greenery and the vast blue horizon.

During summer, the clear water and gentle waves attract travelers looking for a peaceful retreat. Many visitors opt to camp overnight on the sandy shore, waking early to see the sunrise from Mui Dien Lighthouse or the nearby rocky coast. The soft morning light reflecting off the tranquil sea has made Bai Mon a popular spot for photographers and travelers.

Travel blogger Quang Anh from Hanoi recently shared his impressions after visiting the beach, describing it as “small but picture-perfect, with a cinematic view of the sea framed by green forest behind and a tranquil bay ahead.” He added that “the emerald water looks stunning from every angle, whether seen from the mountain pass or right on the sand.”

Besides swimming and photography, visitors can take a short hike to Mui Dien Lighthouse, a popular lookout point with views of the sea and nearby hills. The trail provides stunning views of the coastline and is often combined with sunrise trips.

Since tourism services are limited in the area, visitors should bring their own food, water, and camping supplies. Those planning to camp overnight must register with the local management board or border guards near the lighthouse to ensure safety and protect the environment. Authorities encourage tourists to avoid littering and to help preserve the site’s natural beauty.
