Since 2019, Fico-YTL has launched a range of community initiatives, notably partnering with HCMC University of Technology (HUTECH) to improve rural traffic infrastructure and educate youth. This collaboration reflects Fico-YTL’s commitment to sustainability, not only by supplying construction materials but also by fostering talent development, essential for building a greener Vietnam.

Contributing to the community through practical projects

Fico-YTL and HUTECH have undertaken key infrastructure projects, focusing primarily on the Mekong Delta, which has inadequate infrastructure. These initiatives enhance mobility for local residents, fostering economic development. Over five years of collaboration with HUTECH, Fico-YTL has provided more than 410 tons of cement for eight infrastructure projects, including rural roads and bridges.

In 2019, Fico-YTL contributed 100 tons of cement to construct two roads in Mo Cay Nam District, Ben Tre Province, improving transportation and trade. In 2021-2022, Fico-YTL supplied over 80 tons of cement for two major projects in Tien Giang Province: a rural bridge and a concrete road, ensuring safer travel for residents, particularly during the rainy season.

The company’s support continued in 2022-2023 with 110 tons of cement provided to projects in Dong Thap and Vinh Long provinces. In 2023-2024, Fico-YTL sponsored 120 tons of cement for infrastructure improvements in Ben Tre and Dong Thap, further enhancing the quality of life for local communities.

Beyond material support, Fico-YTL is committed to minimizing environmental impact through sustainable construction solutions. Their projects use eco-friendly materials, aligning with long-term development goals and promoting a healthier living environment for communities.

Nurturing a sustainable mindset in youth

In addition to infrastructure projects, Fico-YTL is deeply involved in talent development through its partnership with HUTECH. This collaboration underscores the company’s dedication to building a high-quality, sustainability-conscious workforce. Over the past five years, Fico-YTL has organized numerous events for thousands of university students, focusing on sustainable construction trends, green materials, and waste management for a circular economy.

Through workshops, internships, field trips and visits to the company, HUTECH students have gained practical experience and knowledge from Fico-YTL experts in areas such as sustainable development, supply chain management, and green technology in the construction industry. These experiences not only equipped students with professional skills but also instilled a strong sense of responsibility toward society and the environment.

Moreover, students had the opportunity to participate directly in community projects, applying theoretical knowledge to real-world problems. Fico-YTL has thus inspired future leaders who are poised to drive sustainable development in Vietnam.

A long-term commitment to a greener future

Fico-YTL’s collaboration with HUTECH since 2019 exemplifies both parties’ commitment to contributing to society’s sustainable development. Through infrastructure projects and talent development programs, this partnership has created lasting impacts on both communities and the younger generation.

Looking ahead, Fico-YTL’s strategic vision for 2030 focuses on raising community awareness, particularly among youth, about environmental protection and sustainability. The ongoing partnership with HUTECH serves as a solid foundation for developing a skilled workforce and building a prosperous, greener Vietnam for future generations.
