HCMC – The first EU-Vietnam Global Gateway Business and Investment Forum will take place on March 24 in Hanoi, aiming to solidify bilateral economic cooperation following the recent elevation of ties to a comprehensive strategic partnership.

Jointly organized by the Delegation of the European Union to Vietnam, the Foreign Investment Agency under the Ministry of Finance and EuroCham Vietnam, the “Global Gateway Strategy” forum expects around 500 delegates to attend.

High-level guests, including EU Commissioner for International Partnerships Jozef Síkela, Vice President of the European Investment Bank Nicola Beer and Vietnamese government officials alongside key business leaders from both sides, will come together to focus on strategic sectors that drive mutual growth for the EU and Vietnam.

Discussions will focus on pivotal sectors for Vietnam’s development, such as sustainable transport, energy transition, infrastructure connectivity, and the twin green and digital transformation.

ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) standards will also be another highlight, aligning investments with international best practices. According to EU Ambassador  to Vietnam Julien Guerrier, the “Global Gateway Strategy” theme reflects the EU’s commitment to sustainable partnerships, prioritizing green growth and innovation in Vietnam.

Beyond policy dialogue, the forum aims to dismantle regulatory barriers and foster practical cooperation, particularly for Vietnamese small and medium enterprises seeking international technology transfer and capital.
