HCMC – The Ministry of Health has written to HCMC, Hanoi, Binh Duong, Long An and Dong Nai ordering them to speed up the Covid-19 vaccination process and complete the first dose of vaccination for people aged over 18 before September 15.
They are among the 10 localities reporting the lowest vaccination rates compared to the vaccines available, although HCMC, Long An and Binh Duong have been allocated enough doses for full first-shot vaccination coverage for people aged over 18.
Besides, these localities were urged to administer the second shot on time, the local media reported.
Hanoi City was asked to prioritize vaccinating people suffering from underlying illnesses, the elderly and those in high-risk areas.
The five localities were told to call for the maximum mobilization of medical workers in State-run hospitals, private clinics and healthcare facilities for the vaccination process and set up a number of mobile vaccination sites.
In addition, the ministry also asked the localities to use electronic health records to monitor the Covid inoculation process.
The ministry said on September 5 that the country administered over 336,380 Covid vaccine doses on September 4, raising the total number of doses given to people nationwide to over 21.4 million, with some 3.2 million people having received two shots.
