HCMC – Foreign carriers operating in Vietnam have continued to cancel flights between Hanoi and several Middle Eastern destinations due to escalating tensions in the region, according to the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV).

The CAAV on March 4 updated flight plans of foreign airlines serving Middle East routes to and from Vietnam, citing the impact of the ongoing conflict.

Qatar Airways canceled two passenger flights from Hanoi to Doha on March 4. Flight QR983, scheduled at 8:55 a.m., had 228 passengers. Flight QR977, scheduled at 7:10 p.m., had 251 passengers.

A cargo flight, QR8951, scheduled at 6:10 a.m. the same day, was also canceled.

The airline said passengers holding tickets for travel between February 28 and March 10, 2026, may change their departure date free of charge within 14 days of the original date or request a refund for the unused portion of their ticket, in line with applicable regulations.

Qatar Airways advised passengers with travel plans within the next 48 hours to contact the airline directly, as its customer service center is experiencing high call volumes. Travelers can manage bookings via the airline’s website or mobile app. Those who booked through travel agents or third-party platforms should contact the issuing agency for assistance.
