HCMC – Foreign meat suppliers are expanding into Vietnam’s premium segment as rapid growth in the food and beverage sector and a consumer upgrade trend create more opportunities for imported products.
Data from the Department of Vietnam Customs showed Vietnam imported nearly one million tons of meat and meat products worth over US$2 billion in 2025, pointing to further growth potential, especially in higher-end categories.
The premium segment is increasingly defined by quality, traceability and dining experience, which have become key competitive factors.
At the “Canadian Beef: Culinary Excellence and Quality” workshop held on March 23 in HCMC, the Canada Beef association identified Vietnam as a priority market in Asia, citing strong expansion in the F&B sector.
Albert Eringfeld, vice president of Canada Beef, said rising consumption standards are opening opportunities for exporters to deepen their presence.
