HCMC – Former board chairman Masaru Onishi and former director of international relations Hideki Oshima of Japan Airlines will become senior adviser and executive manager of Bamboo Airways, respectively.
Board chairman Nguyen Ngoc Trong gave the above information in the context of the carrier being restructured after FLC sold its stake.
The airline set a target to become a member of the airline alliance and will consider cooperation with other prestigious international carriers to enhance its competitiveness.
According to Trong, there may be crucial changes in the board of directors (BOD) and executive board.
The Bamboo Airways’ BOD currently has five members: Trong, two vice chairmen, Doan Huu Doan and Le Ba Nguyen, and two members, Le Thai Sam and Nguyen Manh Quan.
In the meeting last week, the General Meeting’s Shareholders of Bamboo Airways approved issuing 1.15 billion new shares to raise its charter capital from VND18.5 trillion to VND30 trillion.
Meanwhile, FLC transferred all of its shares in this carrier, representing 21.7% of the carrier’s total contributed capital.
Bamboo Airways seeks to increase its fleet to 100 aircraft in 2028 – 2030.
