HCMC – Nguyen Hanh Phuc, former general secretary of the National Assembly (NA), has been elected board chairman of Vietnam Dairy Products Joint Stock Company (Vinamilk/VNM) for the 2022-2026 tenure, replacing Le Thi Bang Tam.
The 2022 shareholders meeting of Vinamilk on April 26 adopted a resolution on Phuc’s election. The newly-elected chairman also serves as chairman of the Personnel Committee at Vinamilk.
Mai Kieu Lien continues to serve as general director of Vinamilk in the new tenure and concurrently holds the post of chairwoman of the Strategy Committee.
Do Le Hung, a board member, was appointed chairman of the Audit Committee. Tieu Yen Trinh, another board member, now serves as chairwoman of the Remuneration Committee.
At the meeting, a list of members of the Vinamilk board in the 2022-2026 tenure was passed. They include Alain Cany, Dang Thi Thu Ha, Do Le Hung, Hoang Ngoc Thach, Le Thanh Liem, Lee Meng Tat, Mai Kieu Lien, Michael Chye Hin Fah, Nguyen Hanh Phuc, and Tieu Yen Trinh.
On the local stock market, the dairy producer VNM closed 1.19% lower at VND75,000 per share today, April 27.
With 299 stocks rising and 123 others falling, the benchmark VN-Index of the HCMC stock exchange gained 12.43 points, or 0.93% over the session earlier at 1,353.77.
The HCMC market saw a sharp decline in liquidity, with some 519 million shares worth over VND14.5 trillion changing hands, down 28% in volume and 30% in value against the previous session. This session’s liquidity was at the lowest level since September last year.
On the Hanoi bourse, the HNX-Index added 11.92 points, or 3.45% versus the previous session, with 186 advancers and 42 decliners.
