HCMC – Vietnamese tech giant FPT Corporation, in collaboration with the Hope Foundation and local authorities, has inaugurated a new preschool in the south-central province of Phu Yen.

Nguyen Xuan Preschool, situated in Son Nguyen Commune, Son Hoa District, is now ready for the 2023-2024 academic year following a three-month construction period that began in mid-June.

This preschool is part of the Son Nguyen kindergarten, situated about 10 kilometers from the center of Son Hoa District.

The project costs VND1.2 billion and is equipped with modern facilities, including a classroom, a facility room, and a self-contained lavatory, among others.

The school can now comfortably accommodate up to 50 students. Its capacity was previously confined to a maximum of 29 students given infrastructure constraints.

Principal Vo Thi Nguyet Thu of Son Nguyen Kindergarten expressed the school management team’s long-standing aspiration for a new and safe educational facility.

Bui Quang Ngoc, vice chairman of FPT, emphasized the company’s dedicated commitment to educational development. The construction of Nguyen Xuan Preschool stands as a contribution to the community, commemorating FPT’s 35th anniversary and aiming to nurture a prosperous future for local children.

At the inauguration event, FPT Corp and the Hope Foundation representatives provided essential facilities to the school, including televisions, student desk and chair sets, and 110 presents for local children. The support for these gifts came from the employees of FPT.

The initiative is a part of the “Light up the School” program established by the Hope Foundation in 2018. This program has successfully constructed or renovated over 130 school sites, benefiting children and teachers across various provinces in Vietnam.

In 2023, the program aims to construct ten new schools and 50 water closets for children in remote areas.
