Through decades of operation in Vietnam, Frasers Property Vietnam (FPV) has consistently demonstrated its commitment to sustainability, not only in real estate but also in contributing to the community. In 2024, FPV continues its community-driven mission, characterized by collaborative efforts to build a sustainable future.
From efforts to connect communities
Core to the company’s purpose is inspiring experiences for the communities FPV serves. Community connectedness is about upholding social value principles for communities. FPV, therefore, strives to create healthy, vibrant spaces for its occupants and the larger community.
To facilitate and enhance community connectedness where it operates, the company has implemented community investment and placemaking initiatives, and is focused on supporting inclusive communities.
“Our main goal is to create memorable experiences for the communities we serve. We strive to create healthy and vibrant living spaces for our residents and the larger community,” said an FPV representative.
The activities in 2024 further extend FPV’s over-a-decade-long community mission in Vietnam. These programs emphasize community spirit and collaboration, aiming to spread love and responsibility within society.
For instance, on November 13, FPV will donate computers to students at Phu My Secondary School in the “Spreading Love, Connecting Futures” campaign. The goal is to provide digital tools for the future generation, with total sponsorship valued at VND700 million. By equipping the school’s computer lab with desks and computers, students will now have an ideal learning environment to explore and develop their abilities. Each donated computer is expected to contribute to a more advanced and civilized society.
Additionally, through the “Connecting Dreams with the Future” initiative, FPV partnered with the NGO Saigon Children to donate computers to underprivileged students. Each donated computer represents a shared belief and opens doors to brighter futures for the students.
Another annual community program is the blood drive in partnership with Vietnam Red Cross. The “Blood of Love” program saw enthusiastic participation from employees, customers, partners, and the wider community. FPV successfully collected over 100 units of precious blood, contributing to saving many lives.
FPV also launched the “Every Tree, A New Breath” program, which aims to build a greener planet as part of its sustainability and zero-emission goals. The entire Northern Vietnam team at Frasers Property Vietnam came together to plant 1,100 trees at Cuc Phuong National Park.
Earlier this spring, FPV collaborated with the Fatherland Front Committee of Thao Dien Ward in Thu Duc City, HCMC to organize a gift presentation program for disadvantaged families in the area, sharing love and helping them have a warmer and more prosperous Lunar New Year.
Efforts to build a community for sustainable development
FPV is one of the leading real estate developers in Vietnam, with three main sectors: industrial, commercial, and residential. In these fields, FPV has proactively taken initiatives and actions to promote sustainable development alongside the community.
For example, in late 2022, FPV announced that it was recognized by the Science-Based Targets initiative (SBTi) for its greenhouse gas emission reduction goals, marking the first time a real estate company has received such certification. FPV committed to reducing absolute greenhouse gas emissions by 46.2% (under Scope 1, 2, and 3 standards) by the fiscal year 2030 compared to the fiscal base year 2019.
Large developments undertaken by FPV, from commercial to industrial and logistics, have also shifted to green technologies to meet clients’ increasing sustainability demands. For instance, in the commercial, Worc@Q2 has achieved LEED Gold certification, while Melinh Point has earned two prestigious certifications at the highest level: BCA Green Mark Platinum and LEED Platinum.
In the industrial and logistics, phase 1 of the Industrial Centre Yen Phong 2C development in Bac Ninh Province received LEED Gold certification for its RBF buildings and LEED Silver for its RBW facilities. Additionally, the Industrial Service Centre (ISC) of the BDIP Premium Industrial Park in Binh Duong Province was awarded EDGE Advanced certification for its sustainable development efforts.
These certifications require meeting stringent conditions and hard work, but the results ensure worker health in industrial zones, sustainable building designs that improve productivity, save energy, and protect the environment.
At the recent Green Economy Forum, Truong An Duong, general manager for North Vietnam and Residential at Frasers Property Vietnam, said that FPV is moving towards a smart satellite urban-industrial model 4.0, which not only meets basic production needs but also integrates amenities for living, resting, and entertainment for the community.
“One unique feature of our industrial & logistics model is creating green spaces to meet the needs of businesses and workers in a balanced work environment, supporting both mental and physical health. Here, everyone can enjoy multifunctional green spaces with outdoor sports facilities and other amenities, as a privilege of healthy living in a sustainable working environment,” Duong said.
Building values centered on individuals and communities is what FPV is aiming for. “We leverage the expertise and experience of our employees, along with the potential of our developments, to create meaningful, long-term relationships within the communities we serve,” said the FPV representative, explaining the approach to community building on the path toward a sustainable future.
