HCMC – Gasoline prices were reduced by up to VND5,620 per liter from midnight March 26, according to a joint decision by the ministries of Industry-Trade and Finance.
Vietnam’s most widely used fuel, RON95-III, fell by VND5,620 to VND24,330 per liter. E5 RON92 bio-gasoline dropped by VND4,750 to VND23,320 per liter.
Oil products also declined. Diesel oil decreased by VND2,450 to VND35,440 per liter, while kerosene fell by VND970 to VND35,380 per liter.
On the other hand, heavy oil rose by VND1,500 to VND21,740 per kilogram.
The two ministries suspended the use of the petroleum price stabilization fund in this pricing cycle, ending nine consecutive periods of disbursement.
The fund had been used since March 10 to limit domestic fuel price increases. Its balance is estimated at around VND320 billion.
