HCMC – Around 5,000 people converged in Crescent Lake area in District 7, HCMC on January 20 for the 19th edition of the fund-raising Lawrence S. Ting Charity Walk.
The event, a joint effort between Phu My Hung Corporation and local authorities, took place at Crescent Lake and was broadcast live on HCMC Television’s HTV7 and HTV Sports channels.
The 2.1-kilometer walk through the scenic surroundings infused the morning with energy and promoted the annual tradition of physical fitness and community cohesion on the occasion of the Tet holiday.
Initiated by Phu My Hung Corporation in conjunction with four districts — 7, 8, Nha Be and Binh Chanh, the charity walk has evolved into a cornerstone of volunteer culture in Saigon South.
Over the years, the event has attracted over 230,000 participants and raised more than VND47 billion, which has been used to construct homes for the underprivileged and facilitate house repairs for those in need.
