HCMC – PetroVietnam Gas Joint Stock Corporation (HOSE: GAS) posted a strong performance in 2024, with pre-tax profits reaching VND13 trillion, 82% higher than its 2024 goal.
The company’s consolidated revenue surpassed its target by 50% to nearly VND105 trillion. The firm said it paid more than VND6 trillion to the state budget in 2024, 61% above the planned amount.
GAS sold nearly 3.1 million tons of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), up 25% from last year, holding a 70% share in the domestic market. International LPG sales reached 1.5 million tons, the highest ever, surging 68% year-on-year.
The company imported and supplied 400 million cubic meters of liquefied natural gas (LNG) during the 2024 dry season. It was the first time imported LNG was used for power generation in Vietnam.
Closing the trading session today, December 25, GAS edged up 0.29% to VND68,400, with a trading volume of 456,300.
With 326 winners and 92 losers, the benchmark VN-Index rose 13.68 points, or 1.09%, to 1,274.04 points, driven by gains in financial stocks and increased trading activity.
Trading volume on the southern market rose to over 810.4 million shares valued at VND18.8 trillion, rising 26% in volume and 18% in value over the previous session. Block deals accounted for 86.1 million shares worth VND2.3 trillion.
Financial stocks in the VN30 basket performed well. CTG rose 5.5% to VND38,100, while STB gained 4.5% to VND36,200. Other notable performers included HDB, TPB, MBB, and SSI, which gained over 2%.
SSI recorded the highest trading volume among the 30 largest-cap stocks with 26.2 million shares exchanged, followed by CTG with 25.1 million and STB with 24.3 million.
Mid- and small-cap stocks in construction, real estate, and services also saw strong performance. HHV, SMC, and DAH hit their daily price limits, supported by high trading volumes.
DXG was the most actively traded stock on the southern market with over 36 million shares changing hands.
The HNX-Index increased 1.45 points, or 0.64%, to 229.81 points, with 108 advancers and 56 decliners. Trading volume on the Hanoi Stock Exchange reached 66.9 million shares valued at VND1.1 trillion.
