HCMC – The GBA-Erdinger Oktoberfest 2025 kicked off in HCMC, concluding this year’s series of German cultural celebrations following events in Hanoi and Danang, and runs through October 10-11 in town.
The festival is jointly organized by the German Business Association (GBA), the Delegation of German Industry and Commerce in Vietnam (AHK Vietnam), and Hotel Nikko Saigon, under the patronage of the Consulate General of Germany in HCMC. This year’s edition coincides with the 30th anniversary of the GBA.
Around 1,500 guests attended the opening night, featuring performances by the O’zapft Band from Germany and Austria. Attendees sampled Erdinger beers and traditional German dishes in a festive atmosphere reminiscent of Bavaria.
GBA Chairman Alexander Ziehe said the event not only celebrates German culture but also highlights the partnership between Vietnam and Germany in business and community exchange.
German Consul General Andrea Sühl noted the festival’s significance as the two countries mark 50 years of diplomatic relations.
Founded in 1995, the GBA now has more than 400 members and serves as a platform for promoting cooperation between German and Vietnamese businesses.
