HCMC – GELEX Group Joint Stock Company (HOSE: GEX) plans to issue shares for dividend payment and bonus shares.
The company will issue more than 225.5 million shares for a 25% stock dividend at a 4:1 ratio. It will also issue over 180.4 million bonus shares at a 20% ratio, or 5:1, using its equity. The shares will not be subject to transfer restrictions.
The share issue is expected to happen in the second quarter of this year, after the State Securities Commission confirms receipt of the required documents. The process will be completed within six months of the 2026 annual general meeting.
In total, GELEX plans to issue about 406 million shares, with a par value of around VND4.06 trillion. If completed, its charter capital will rise from VND9.02 trillion to VND13.08 trillion.
Earlier, the company paid an interim cash dividend for 2025 at a rate of 8%, equivalent to nearly VND722 billion.
For 2026, GELEX targets consolidated net revenue of VND44.712 trillion and pre-tax profit of around VND3.62 trillion, aiming to maintain double-digit growth in its core businesses.
Closing the trading session today, April 10, GEX edged down 0.99% to VND40,100, with over 9.1 million shares changing hands.
The VN-Index rose 13.32 points, or 0.77%, to 1,750 on the Hochiminh Stock Exchange (HOSE), extending its weekly advance to 3.92% for a third straight gain. The benchmark index added 65.96 points over the week, according to HOSE data.
Market breadth was positive, with 164 stocks rising and 144 others falling. Trading volume totaled more than 961.7 million shares valued at VND24.66 trillion, down over 9% in volume and 14% in value from the previous session. Block deals accounted for over 106 million shares worth VND2.57 trillion.
Banking stocks led blue-chip gains. LPB rose 2.7% to VND49,300 while TCB climbed 4.4% to VND32,250, with matched volume exceeding 30.7 million shares.
Oil and gas stocks also advanced. GAS gained 2.9% to VND80,700 and PLX rose 4.2% to VND41,150.
Other large caps, including VPL, SAB, VNM, VIC, DGC, VIB and GVR, increased between just over 1% and 2.5%.
Declines were limited. SSI, SHB, VHM, FPT and HPG edged down by less than 1%.
Oil, fertilizer and chemical stocks rebounded. BSR hit its ceiling price of VND26,750 with more than 20 million shares traded. PVP, DCM, PVT, BFC and PVD gained between over 3% and nearly 5%.
MSB and EIB pared earlier gains. MSB closed up 5.4% at VND12,750 with 34.6 million shares traded, while EIB rose 2.2% to VND23,100 with more than 30 million shares matched.
On the Hanoi Stock Exchange, the HNX-Index rose 0.93 point, or 0.37%, to 251.91, with 69 gainers and 74 decliners. Trading volume reached nearly 90 million shares valued at VND1.63 trillion.
