HCMC – Domestic gold prices saw mixed changes on August 4 as several major jewelers raised buying prices by VND200,000 per tael while cutting selling prices by the same amount.
As of 9:30 a.m., Saigon Jewelry Company (SJC) revised up its buying price by VND200,000 and lowered its selling price by the same amount, listing them at VND121.7 million and VND123.3 million per tael, respectively. The adjustment brought the price gap to VND1.6 million.
While other dealers such as DOJI and Bao Tin Minh Chau quoted similar rates, Phu Quy Jewelry kept its buying price unchanged and cut its selling price by VND200,000 to VND123.3 million, setting the trading range at VND120.5 million to VND123.3 million per tael. The buying-selling spread widened to VND2.8 million.
Prices of gold rings also saw declined at some retailers while staying flat at others, mirroring the trend of SJC gold bar prices.. At SJC, gold rings dropped by VND200,000 in both buying and selling prices, now quoted at VND116.3 million and VND118.8 million, respectively.
Phu Quy Jewelry applied a similar adjustment, listing gold rings at VND116 million for buying and VND119 million for selling. In contrast, Bao Tin Minh Chau kept its prices unchanged at VND117.2 million and VND120.2 million per tael, respectively.
