HCMC – The domestic gold price surged to VND85 million per tael this afternoon, October 8, up by VND1 million over yesterday, according to local media reports.
As of 2 p.m. today, DOJI and Saigon Jewelry Company (SJC) listed the buying price of SJC gold bars at VND83 million per tael and the selling price at VND85 million per tael, reflecting the sharp rise from the previous day’s closing price.
Meanwhile, the price of gold rings remained stable. At Bao Tin Minh Chau, gold rings were bought at VND82.68 million per tael and sold at VND83.58 million per tael.
On the global market, gold prices slid by US$10 per ounce to around US$2,641, equivalent to VND79.7 million per tael, the Vietnam News Agency reported. This global price is around VND5.3 million per tael lower than the domestic price of SJC-brand gold bars.
