HCMC – The local price of 24K gold rings soared to a record high of over VND69 million per tael today, February 8, according to local media.
Saigon Jewelry Company (SJC) in HCMC quoted its gold rings at around VND67.05-68.3 million per tael this morning, March 8, up by VND150,000 against yesterday. A tael equals 37.5 grams or 1.2 troy ounces.
Doji, another major jewelry firm based in Hanoi City, raised its 24K gold ring price to VND67.7-68.95 million per tael. At Bao Tin Minh Chau, also in Hanoi, the price was quoted at VND67.8-69 million.
Since the beginning of the year, the price of gold rings has increased by about VND5 million per tael, or nearly 8%.
Contrary to the consistent upward trend of plain gold rings, SJC gold bar prices today declined by VND300,000 per tael. At 11:00 a.m., SJC quoted its gold bars at VND79.5-81.5 million per tael while DOJI gold bars were capped at VND79.45-81.45 million per tael.
