HCMC – Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has signed a decision establishing a national steering committee dedicated to the development of the semiconductor industry in Vietnam, according to the Government’s news site.
The steering committee is tasked with studying and proposing strategies and measures to advance the semiconductor industry in the country.
Under the decision, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh will serve as the head of the committee. The Minister of Planning and Investment is the permanent deputy head, while the Minister of Information and Communications is a deputy head.
Committee members include the Government Office chief, and ministers of Foreign Affairs, Education and Training, Science and Technology, Industry and Trade, Finance, Justice, Natural Resources and Environment, and Transport.
The National Steering Committee for Semiconductor Industry Development will assist the Government and the Prime Minister in researching, directing, and coordinating efforts among ministries, ministerial-level agencies, government agencies, and relevant organizations within the semiconductor industry.
The Ministry of Planning and Investment serves as the standing organization of the Steering Committee, implementing the duties assigned by the Standing Committee.
