HCMC – The Government Office has announced the launch of a program on reducing and streamlining business conditions for the 2020-2025 period at a press briefing on September 30.
The program is being carried out in accordance with the Government’s Resolution 68 issued by Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc on May 12 this year.
Speaking at the event, Minister and Chairman of the Government Office Mai Tien Dung asked the ministries and agencies to focus on reforming regulations related to business operations.
They were required to facilitate the handling of administrative procedures on online platforms, offer e-services for highly demanded administrative procedures and come up with a plan to digitalize results to handle these procedures.
As for localities, the chief of the Government Office suggested provincial and municipal governments bolster the online implementation of administrative works, connect and offer online public services and payment services on the National Public Service Portal.
According to a report released at the event, during the 2016-2020 period, over 3,800 of the 6,191 business conditions and nearly 6,800 of the 9,926 product lines subject to specialized inspections were reduced and streamlined.
As a result, more than 18 million public work days were saved, equivalent to some VND6.3 trillion. Ministries and agencies had handled 1,501 products subject to overlapping checks.
However, aside from these achievements, there remain inadequacies hindering manufacturing and business activities among enterprises. Some localities reportedly abolished certain regulations but added new ones that made business activities tougher.
