HCMC – The Government has issued a resolution proceeding with the execution of the National Assembly’s June 2025 resolution that approved the investment plan for the Quy Nhon–Pleiku Expressway worth VND43.7-trillion.
The 125-kilometer expressway would be completed by 2029, according to the Government news website (baochinhphu.vn).
Under the Government’s Resolution No. 336/NQ-CP, signed on October 18, the Gia Lai People’s Committee will act as the project’s investor and oversee the preparation, appraisal, and approval of the feasibility study. The province is also authorized to approve environmental impact assessment reports for component projects and to apply contractor appointment procedures for land clearance, compensation, and resettlement packages.
The project will require about 942 hectares of land, including 257 hectares of forest land to be converted for construction purposes. It will feature four traffic lanes, two emergency lanes, and two tunnels, with a maximum speed of 100 kilometers per hour.
The Ministry of Finance will coordinate with Gia Lai authorities to ensure adequate funding from the central budget and to address financial and procurement issues. It will also work with the Ministry of Construction to develop a plan for recovering investment capital to reimburse both central and local budgets.
The Ministry of Agriculture and Environment is tasked with assessing environmental impact assessment reports and guiding the use of local mineral resources as construction materials under special mechanisms.
The Gia Lai People’s Committee is responsible for ensuring the project’s progress, quality, and efficiency, as well as preventing waste, corruption, or misuse of public assets.
