HCMC – Military, police and civilian units began a large-scale rehearsal on Le Duan Boulevard in downtown HCMC on the evening of April 18, preparing for a major parade commemorating the liberation of the south and the reunification of the nation on April 30.
The rehearsal took place from 8 p.m. to midnight, featuring 38 marching groups. The formation moved from the Independence Palace and passed through the main viewing area at the intersection of Le Duan and Pasteur streets.
Following this initial run-through, a preliminary review will be conducted on April 25, with a full dress rehearsal scheduled for April 27, also on Le Duan Boulevard.
The official parade and march are slated for 6:30 a.m. on April 30. Around 13,000 participants from 48 military, police and civilian groups are expected to take part in the event, which marks 50th anniversary of the liberation of the south and the reunification of the nation.
